Southampton University Swimming Club has two squads: Competition and Recreational. Whether you're aiming for top-tier performance or just enjoy swimming casually, we’re here to help you become the best swimmer you can be and maximise your potential. ​​

Our full training schedule resumes Monday 20th October! Sessions will take place at both Jubilee Sports Centre (on campus) and Wide Lane Gym, offering plenty of opportunities to get back in the water.​​

 

Thank you for your patience - as the pool was closed for the first month and we had to resort to other avenues at the Quays and Oaklands.

 

As we kick off the new season - we’re ready to come back stronger than ever for BUCS and BUSL!

We follow a high-performance training programme and compete at a range of events throughout the year. Key competitions include:

• BUCS (British Universities & Colleges Sport)

• Varsity against the University of Portsmouth

• Internal time trials

• British University Swimming League (BUSL), which is a student-run league where teams compete regionally, with conference winners advancing to the national final​

As the largest mixed gender sport society at the university, we are also well known for our socials and events. Every Wednesday night members of both squads come together for a social, most of which having a theme. These socials are a great opportunity for members across both squads, freshers and returners alike to get to know each other outside of the pool. All our members are invited to socials and are welcome to drink alcohol if they choose.

​In addition to our weekly socials, we have bigger one-off socials throughout the year including:

• Christmas meal

• Boat Ball

• Athletic Union Ball

• Tour - a 5-day long holiday we have every year over the Easter break where swimmers get to soak up the sun and enjoy some away time with fellow club members. Previous destinations include Albufeira, Majorca, Benalmadena, Tenerife, Magaluf, and Ayia Napa!
