About SUSC
Southampton University Swimming Club is split into two squads, Competition and Recreational. We are a multidimensional club offering a high-performance programme for our competition members and a more casual approach for our recreational members. We help all our members to become the fastest swimmers they can and enable them to compete at the highest possible level and maximise their potential. Details about both squads can be found on our Squads and Training page.

We compete at many competitions throughout the year at a whole range of levels. Our main events are the BUCS (British University & College Sport) competitions. These are national events against other universities where our swimmers and the team regularly achieve great results. Other competitions include Varsity against our rival university the University of Portsmouth, Internal time trails held every semester and BUSL (British University Swimming League). BUSL is a student run league swum in conferences of four. With each conference winner going to a National final.
As the largest mixed gender sport societies at the university, we are also well known for our socials and events. Every Wednesday night members of both squads come together for a social, most of which having a theme. These socials are a great opportunity for members across both squads, freshers and returners alike to get to know each other outside of the pool. All our members are invited to socials and are welcome to drink alcohol if they choose.
In addition to our weekly socials, we have bigger one-off socials throughout the year including: Christmas meal, Boat Ball, Athletic Union Ball held by SUSU and Tour. Tour is a 5-day long holiday we have every year over the Easter break where swimmers get to soak up the sun and enjoy some away time with fellow club members. Previous destinations of Tour include Majorca, Benalmadena, Tenerife, Magaluf, and Ayia Napa!
